Tuxedo Performing Arts Group's season begins March 8
TUXEDO The Tuxedo Performing Arts Group’s 2008 Concert Series is in place, with the first concert event beginning in March. “A Musical Mosaic: An Evening of Standards, Opera, and Classical Performances by Local Artists,” will be held Saturday, March 8 at 7 p.m. at the George F. Baker High School. This event will feature the Orange County Music Educators Association Wind Ensemble; Tuxedo resident and opera singer Anthony Daino, who will sing love songs and arias from around the world; and pop vocalist J.C. Cassis, a recent Apollo Theater talent competition, who will be accompanied by Socrates Cruz on guitar. “Spirits Soaring” will feature jazz saxophonist Todd Williams, who recently joined Tuxedo Park School’s music program, on May 24. He will be part of a jazz quartet and vocalists, who present their interpretation of well-known hymns and spirituals, along with original compositions, The Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform at the third annual “Pops in the Park,” which will take place July 27 on the lawn at Tuxedo Park School. “Musicora by the Lake” will take place Oct. 18 at a private home in Tuxedo Park. A selection of classics, along with original compositions, will be performed by Musicora, a quintet comprised of piano, violin, cello, and classical guitar, plus a soprano.
