Middletown — Sharon Lee Parker, author of, “Look Out Cancer, Here I Come!” will appear at 2 p.m. on Sept. 9 at the Middletown Borders located at 1 North Galleria Drive. Parker will sign copies of her book from 2 to 3 p.m. A resident of Tuxedo Park for more than two decades, Parker wrote her book to inspire cancer patients and to provide a guidebook for caregivers and patients’ friends and families. Just four years ago, Parker was diagnosed with two different cancers at the same time. After beating the odds and coming out a winner, Parker has recounted her personal experience, insights and useful knowledge in her book. “‘Look Out Cancer, Here I Come!’ is a book about empowerment, courage, caring and ultimately making the best decisions,” said Parker. “I wrote this book to inform anyone affected by cancer that knowing your options, asking the right questions and a positive attitude will change the way you feel.” Parker now travels the country as a “cancer coach,” to offer in-person support, advice and moral support to anyone who needs it. Since fighting her illness, Parker has helped scores of people facing cancer. All profits from the book go toward the foundation Parker created, The Life Lover Foundation, which funds new treatments and cancer research. For more information, visit www.lifeloverfoundation.org.
