Tuxedo Park - For the eighth consecutive year, the Tuxedo Park Library celebrated Memorial Day by hosting a community picnic. This year’s events included games, raffle prizes, face painting, Magician Extraordinaire Stephen Christopher, DJ George Carney, memorabilia from veterans from the Tuxedo American Legion and a Tuxedo Idol singing competition. Volunteers from the community, including members of the Friends of the Tuxedo Park Library, Trustees of the Library and students, helped organize and run the event. “The weather worried us a bit,” Library Director Claudia Depkin said. “The 6 a.m. thunderstorms were unwelcome, but the weather cleared and everyone turned out anyway. We had a fantastic day celebrating with our community and remembering the fallen military who died protecting our country.”
