Town Fair schedule's features fruit pies, history and entertainment
Warwick - The following is the schedule for the Warwick Town Fair, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 3, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Warwick Valley Community Center (WVCC), located at 11 Hamilton Ave. in the Village of Warwick. The event is sponsored by the Warwick Valley Community Center, the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Warwick Valley Rotary Club Fruit pie contest (in the center’s kitchen) 1 - 1:30 p.m. Pie entry. 1:30 - 2:15 p.m. Open judging by: Jody Weatherstone, winner of many first-place pie baking ribbons; Nicole Stein, pastry chef and owner of Cakes by Nicole in Greenwood Lake; and Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton. Outdoor kiddie activities (south lawn) Kiddie face-painting by Warwick Valley Community Center. Kiddie golf and juggling by Mike Iradi. Vehicle Displays by: Warwick Community Ambulance Corps, Warwick Fire District, Town of Warwick Police Department, Department of Public Works, Town of Warwick and Village of Warwick. Music and events on the outdoor stage 1 - 1:30 p.m. The Midnight Runaways, teen rock trio. 1:30 - 1:50 p.m. Tae Kwon Do demonstration by United Martial Arts Centers. 1:50 - 2:30 p.m. Marty Kupersmith - pop standards, rock and country. 2:30 p.m. Presentation of ribbons to Winners of the Fruit Pie Contest. 3 - 3:20 p.m. Tae Kwon Do demonstration by United Martial Arts Centers. 3:20 - 4:10 p.m. Stretch Armstrong and Captain Fantastic (aka Peter Holmgren & Jeremy Langdale) - mandolin, guitar and vocal harmonies. 4:10 - 4:35 p.m. Rebel Red - folk rock. 4:35 - 5:15 p.m. Charles Lyonheart - guitar. 5:15 - 6:00 p.m. Robbie Valentine and Peter Styka - acoustic rock guitar. Musical sets will be shortened.
