Central Valley —Thousands are expected to rally on Sunday, Oct. 15, at Woodbury Common, in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, to support the American Cancer Society. The event is a 5-K, non-competitive walk, beginning at 9 a.m. If it hasn't already, breast cancer will touch your life in some way. This year, more than 14,000 New York State women will be diagnosed with the disease, and thousands of Hudson Valley residents are going to do something about it. Families, friends and co-workers from across the area will converge at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets to raise money and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds go to support the American Cancer Society's breast cancer research, education, advocacy and patient service programs. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Central Valley. To join, call 1-800-ACS-2345 or visit www.cancer.org/strides.
