The Wizard is coming

    Chester Academy play to have many actors Chester — A big cast of 120 performers will be filling the stage at the Chester Academy for its spring play this season. Chester students in grades 3 to 12 are preparing for their performance of “The Wizard of Oz” — with a surprise guest actor debuting as The Wizard. Kelly Vandemark, Kelly Clemenza, Shawn Binder, Lacey Cukier, Jamie Kracht, and Gabrielle Fletcher are just a few of the actors who will lead the audience down the Yellow Brick Road to meet many other unique characters, including singing and dancing crows and a snowflake ballet. The play will be performed at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, at the Chester Academy auditorium. The snow date is Sunday, March 5, with the show to start at 3 p.m. Rachel Scali is the director, vocal director, and choreographer. Thomas Venable is the instrumental and recording director. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for children and senior citizens, and will be sold at the door both nights. They are also now available for purchase at either Chester Elementary or Chester Academy. Tickets need to be picked up at the time and place of purchase. Pre-paid tickets will not be held at the door. Checks should be made payable to Chester Union Free School District and given to Patty Feierman at the Chester Elementary security desk or to Rachel Scali at Chester Academy.
