Monroe — The thriller “Wait Until Dark,” by Frederick Knott, will kick off the 2006 season for Creative Theatre-Muddy Water Players. Performances will be offered at 8 p.m. on May 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20, and at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 7 and 21, at The Playhouse at Museum Village on Route 17M in Monroe. Susy, a young blind woman, finds herself unwittingly involved in a psychological game of cat and mouse with a trio of sinister con men. When the game turns to blackmail and murder, and darkness falls, Susy must rely on her instincts to play the game by her own rules. The classic thriller builds to an electrifying final scene. The production is under the direction of David Mossey, with Bill Schwartz as stage manager. The non-profit corporation has been performing in the mid-Hudson since 1978. Tickets are $17, which includes dessert at intermission, consisting of apple pie, ice cream, iced tea and coffee. Group rates are available and reservations are suggested.
