WARWICK — “Brush with Nature,” an exhibition of paintings by artist Mary Mugele Sealfon, is on display in the gallery of the Albert Wisner Public Library now through Sept. 30.

On Thursday. Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. the community is invited to a “Meet the Artist” program, where Mugele Sealfon will do a quick pastel portrait sketch of a volunteer and answer questions about her work and process.

Entranced by the Hudson Valley, Mugele Sealfon enjoys plein air painting, portraiture and still life in pastel and oil. A third generation San Franciscan, she received a bachelor of arts degree in painting at the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in printmaking from New York University, where her thesis was entitled: “The Photographic Image in Silk-screen and Intaglio Printmaking.”

She teaches art at SUNY Orange and The Wallkill River School and is currently represented by the Wallkill River Art Gallery in Montgomery and the Flat Iron Gallery in Peekskill.

As a member of the Lower Hudson Valley Plein Air Painters, she also participates in the Palisades Park “Artists in the Park” program, painting and exhibiting at several park locations.
