The London Trio to play at the Albert Wisner Public Library on April 6

WARWICK — The London Trio, will appear in concert on Friday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of Albert Wisner Public Library.
The London Trio is a flute, violin, and cello ensemble imbued in the tradition of Haydn's London Trios. The ensemble has a wide repertoire with a special emphasis on contemporary music, having three works composed specifically for them. The Trio performs throughout the New York metropolitan area.
The group will perform the works by Haydn, both Divertimenti and The London Trio No. 1 in C Major, for which the group was inspired and named.
The program will also feature the highly acclaimed Jersey Trio by Steven Giammarino and solo performances of works by Bach, Enesco and Debussy.
Flutist Carla Auld’s debut CD, "Beauty in America," included the premiere of a piece by country-classical violinist Mark O’Connor. She performs with numerous orchestras and chamber groups, and as a guest soloist throughout the United States.
Violinist Gabriel Schaff is a popular chamber music player, lecturer and teacher. He is also the author of several books, including Rediscovering Haydn’s Three Original Violin Sonatas.
Cellist and Julliard Alumni Award-winner Lanny Paykin has performed in the New York City Ballet and Metropolitan Opera orchestras, and he has toured Asia with the New York Philharmonic and performed with them at Avery Fisher Hall. He’s also a member of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in Australia and has performed at the Aspen, Dartmouth College, Bard College, Lake Tahoe, and Paros, Greece, festivals.
