The koi veterinarian to visit Vernon

Vernon, N.J. — Dr. Eric Johnson, known around North America as the “Koi Vet” will be conducting a Koi Health Seminar for pond owners on Sunday, Feb. 4 at Minerals Resort in Vernon, N.J. The class, which is being sponsored by Garden State Koi and Aquatic Center, will feature a morning seminar and afternoon wet lab. Seminar topics such as water quality, fish pathogens, treatments, koi varieties and limiting fish losses will be discussed in the morning session. During the afternoon lab, attendees will “get wet” with actual fish exams, use of microscope, biopsy, parasite identification, injection, sedation and necropsy. Dr. Johnson is a practicing koi and pond fish veterinarian and author of two koi and goldfish health books, as well as a feature length video on fish diseases. He has been keeping koi since 1973. His informative presentation is based on his research and experience.
