A new children’s program will take place at the Lycian Centre’s “on the Wharf” Theatre by the Lake July and August. The first production, “Alice in Wonderland,” will show on Tuesday, July 19, and Thursday, July, 21 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. A new version of the Lewis Carroll story, it incorporates song and dance in a drama performed by 10 teen actors. The group developed its script from a variety of texts and improvisation. “My Emperors New Clothes,” about a “wise” Emperor and his request to have his clothes made of the finest cloth for a very special parade, will run on Aug. 16 and 18. The Wharf Theatre is in an enclosed tent, and protective from the elements. There is also plenty of available space on the lawn for picnicking before or after a performance. Tickets are $5 each in advance, $6 on day of show, and may be purchased by calling the Lycian Centre Box Office at 469-2287. Information is also available on the Web at www.LycianCentre.com.
