The haunting of Museum Village takes place this Friday and Saturday nights
Monroe - Museum Village will hold its annual Haunted Halloween on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 26 and 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Trolls and witches visit the village during this spooky season, guiding the way to the “Cemetery” and the “Pirates’ Cove.” The haunted hayride takes the whole family around the Village Green to where dragons, goblins and ghost reside. Children will enjoy the “Scavenger Hunt” (bring a flashlight) with clues hidden throughout Museum Village’s old-fashioned buildings including a log cabin, schoolhouse and a candle shop. While nibbling on treats from the Snack Bar enjoy the “Haunted Dancers” courtesy of Joanne’s Dance Studio in Blooming Grove. On Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. enjoy some fright-free fun at the “No Scare Sunday” event. Younger children will enjoy some spooky games on the green, a costume parade and ghost-hunt wagon rides. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 dollars for children, and for children under five, admission is free. Museum Village is a living history museum preserving a vast collection of eclectic, 19th century artifacts for educational purposes. Using these original and reproduction artifacts, we provide hands-on experiences and exhibits illustrating the transition from a rural to an industrial culture and economy in America, provoking thought and discussion about history.
