The Greenwood Lake Public Library presents jazz guitar duo Larry Newcomb and Mike Jackson on April 14

    GREENWOOD LAKE — The Greenwood Lake Public Library will present a jazz concert with guitarists Larry Newcomb and Mike Jackson on Sunday, April 14, from 1 to 2 p.m.
    Performer and educator Dr. Larry Newcomb plays classic and original jazz and blues. His performing and teaching styles are informed by Masters and PhD degrees in Music from the University of Florida and a seasoned master’s understanding of the jazz idiom.
    Newcomb lives in Greenwood Lake.
    Mike Jackson has performed in and around Orange County and throughout the tri-state area for more than 30 years. Originally from Washington, D.C., where he began playing the guitar at age 12, he is well-known as a performer and music educator.
    He has performed at venues throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia and the South Pacific. He has also been featured at the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival, the Goshen Jazz Festival and the Newburgh Jazz Festival.
    In 2014, Jackson received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival.
    He resides in Warwick.
