The Barn presents Art at Elm Lake

MIDDLETOWN — Newly renovated, The Barn will be the site for its first art exhibition, Art at Elm Lake, opening on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22. The exhibition will feature three artists: Daniela Cooney, George Centamore and Joan Kehlenbeck.
Cooney was born in Zurich, Switzerland and moved to New York at an early age where she studied at the Pratt Institute. She takes her inspiration from around her home in the Hudson Valley, painting in water soluble oils and acrylics. Her love of animals and natural landscapes is prevalent in her paintings.
Centamore lives in Milford, Pa., and has been airbrushing since a life-changing car accident over 10 years ago. He prefers to paint realism.
"I find it very challenging as it helps me push my abilities," said Centamore.
Kehlenbeck was born and raised in Forestburgh. Her goal, she says, is to "Capture the beauty of nature and preserve it for others to enjoy forever. Local scenes, historical buildings and portraits are my subjects of choice. Pastel, charcoal and oil give my style a soft but colorful quality. My paintings draw you in to enjoy the warmth of the sunlight or feel the chill of a winter's afternoon."
Enjoy the art, which will be for sale, and see what The Barn has to offer.
The exhibit is open from 2 to 7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22.
The Barn is located at 2 Decker Drive, Middletown, Town of Greenville. For more information, call 845-697-4291 or go to www.thebarn-art.com
