Cuddebackville — The Neversink Valley Area Museum presents a truly magical event when Sullivan county’s Tony Spinal discusses his life and work in the world of magic on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 4:30 p.m. The museum continues to help you uncover the secrets of artisans and creative professionals from a variety of trades with its series of talks called “The Art of…” Spina has taught magic to Daniel Radcliffe , Orson Welles and David Copperfield, he counts Siegfried and Roy among his friends. Spina invented the now famous trick where a woman is sawed in thirds, and has her torso removed. As he explained to the Times Herald-Record, “There’s an explanation for everything. Sometimes it really looks like a miracle. But it’s really simple. Magic is really very, very simple. It’s to make people focus on one thing while something else is happening.” “Art of Magic” will be held at the D&H Canal Park Visitor’s Center, 58 Hoag Road, (just off Route 209) Cuddebackville. The last topic in this series will be The Art of Training Bears in October.
