Thanksgiving service and winter solstice celebration

Washingtonville - An Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Goshen St. in Washingtonville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Clergy from area churches will participate and a joint choir will sing. The Rev. George Palmer of Bethany Presbyterian Church will preach. Anyone who would like to sing in the choir should attend a rehearsal at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20 at St. Mary’s. The community is invited to attend this special service of worship. The Blooming Grove United Church of Christ will hold a Winter Solstice service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 15. The public is invited to attend. The Blooming Grove United Church of Christ is handicapped-accessible and is located at the corner of Route 94 and Old Dominion Road in Blooming Grove. The Blooming Grove United Church of Christ Sunday School will present their Christmas Pageant directed by Hilarie Moore and Susan Chewens at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17 during the worship service.
