'Taste of the Town' celebrates 10 years

— St. Stephen’s has announced that its most successful and longest running event turns 10 this year.

The Taste of the Town committee is trying something new by asking the community to create an original design for the Taste of the Town t-shirt, which is sold prior to and at the event.

“Our students have always been successful in coming up with a graphic for our annual t-shirt, but this year we wanted to add a little competition," said Mary Juliano, Taste of the towns chairperson. "The committee decided that our local community is the heart and soul of Taste of the Town, so let’s ask everyone to join in the fun. After all, without our Warwick locals, this event would never have become the blockbuster that it is.”

The winner will receive six admission tickets to the event, 20 food tickets (used as currency once inside the event), and of course, a 2014 Taste of the Town t-shirt.

All entries should use the tag line “Taste of the Town Turns Ten” and should be submitted in pdf format and sent via email to caroljean8888@gmail.com by Feb. 28, 2014.

The winner will be notified by March 3.

At least 20 local restaurants and beverage vendors will be showing off their wares at Taste of the Town on Sunday, May 4, from 1 to 6 p.m. Attendance has hit the 2,000 mark in the past. Vendor spots are filling up quickly. Restaurant owners who would like to participate should check the event’s Web site. Also, those who wish to sponsor the event or advertise their business can get more information at www.tasteofthetownonline.com or call Juliano at 845-325-4638.
