Tango maestros offer workshop next Sunday at Legion Hall

    WARWICK - Tango and learn from the masters. Jubilee Presents Multi-Cultural Arts dance studio in Warwick is offering a Tango workshop and Milonga next Sunday, Oct. 22, at the American Legion Hall, 71 Forester Ave. Instructor Nelson Avila is one of the original stars from the world-renowned show Tango Argentino, who also recently starred in the premier show, Forever Tango. He is a member of La Academia Nacional del Tango de la República Argentina and is recognized as an authority of tango dance, history, music, musicians and its many styles and interpretations. Avila’s wife and dance partner, Madyln, will also be on hand. According to Judy Battista, owner of Jubilee Presents, Madyln Avila has danced with the National Dance Institute under the direction of Jacques d’Amboise, the Arcady Festival in Maine and at the Waldorf Astoria’s Gala Viennese Opera Ball. She studied with many of the great Tango Dancers who came to New York and had the honor to perform with Luciano from Tango Argentino, Tango x 2, Los Maestros del Tango and Los Pampas at the Thalia Spanish Theatre. Beginning at 2 p.m., intermediate dancers are invited to experience the evolution of Tango. “Learn from the Maestro and ignite more passion in your dance,” said Battista.
