SUNY Orange to screen 10 finalists from Manhattan Short Film Festival

NEWBURGH — The Manhattan Short Film Festival will be screened on Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., in the OCTC Great Room 101, Kaplan Hall, SUNY Orange, Newburgh.
The film fest shows the 10 finalists that were chosen from 1,615 entries from 75 countries. That is nearly double the number of entries from last year.
This year’s Final 10 represent a range of film genres including comedy, drama, horror, sci-fi, animation and martial arts short films. The following are the film titles and the countries from which they originate.

• Hope Dies Last (United Kingdom)
• The Perfect Day (Spain)
• Just Go! (Latvia)
• Mare Nostrum (Syria)
• Viola, Franca (Italy)
• In a Nutshell (Netherlands)
• 8 Minutes (Georgia)
Vote for best film, best actorThe Manhattan Short Film Festival offers families and friends (15 and over) the opportunity of voting. Audience members are given voting sheets on which the film titles and actors are listed. At the conclusion of the viewing, they vote for their favorites Best Film and Best Actor
The votes from all venues worldwide are counted and the winners are announced by festival on Oct. 9.
Results of the SUNY Orange moviegoers voting are released via e-blast.
Essential information• Admission is $5. All students are allowed free entrance.
• Tickets are available only at the door.
• Box Office table opens at 6 p.m. the evening of the screening.
