SUNY Orange showcasing abstract exhibit through October

Middletown — Orange Hall Gallery, Loft, and Fringe at SUNY Orange invites all to explore the large and small artworks by 51 abstract artists.
Created in media including collages, paintings, drawings, mixed media, fiber/fabric, photographs, and sculptures, the show called "Abstract: No Boundaries ~ Visions and the Freedom to Explore" is open through Oct.8.
The exhibit offers the opportunity of immersion by being surrounded by the 143 works on display that includes six-foot-tall wood sculptures, pewter and silver jewelry, ribbons of forged steel, chiseled stone, found objects, vivid batiked silk, various oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, experimental drawings and photographs, and even more to intrigue and captivate.
A reception is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, during which attendees may meet the artists in a casual atmosphere with light refreshments and the splendid playing of classical selections and jazz standards by Geoff Hamburg, pianist.
Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. through 8 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery is open on Sunday, Oct. 7 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Orange Hall is located at SUNY Orange and situated at the corner of Wawayanda and Grandview avenues, (GPS: 24 Grandview Ave), Middletown.
