Summer music series at the library opens July 24

WARWICK — This summer the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation will host a series of free musical performances at the Library. The performances are free.

Please bring a lawn chair or a blanket for outdoor concerts. In case of rain the performance will move into the library’s community room.

Tuesday, July 24, at 7 p.m. Radio Flyer is one of the Hudson Valley’s premier cover bands performing an eclectic mix of rock classics both old and new. Radio Flyer will perform favorite music selections from artists ranging from Van Morrison and Steely Dan to the Allman Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis (both Presley and Costello), the Doobie Brothers, Neil Diamond and so much more.

Les Paul and Mary Ford tribute Friday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.

Master guitarist Tom Doyle and his wife Sandy Cory will fill the shoes of Paul and Ford, performing some of their well –known hits and few of their rarely heard gems as well as selections from Doyle’s album, Tribute to Les Paul, Mary & more.

Tom Doyle served as Paul’s sound engineer or worked with him in other capacities over four decades. Les Paul invented the first solid-body electric guitar and instrumental in developing multitrack recording which revolutionized the sound of rock music.

Gabriele Tranchina: Jazz with a touch of the world.

Friday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room.

Internationally acclaimed vocalist Gabriele Tranchina brings to her music with a world view to the library. The underlying rhythmic pulse of the music presented spans grooves from Brazil, the Afro-Caribbean world, jazz and European art songs. The textures of the compositions and arrangements range from delicate and soothing to dynamic and throbbing, from intricate woven to finely spun. and the featured material is sung in different languages.

Tranchina is will be collaborating with Joe Vincent Tranchina (her husband) on piano and a bassist.
