‘Summer Fest' planned for Aug. 17-19 in Pine Island

Pine Island - The Polish Legion of American Veterans and the Pine island Fire Department are sponsoring an “Old Time Summer Fest” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17, 18 and 19, at the Legion’s Post grounds at 16 Legion Road just off Pulaski Highway in Pine Island. The scheduled activities will include A carnival, games, foods, beverages, vendors, fresh local produce and live entertainment. On Friday, Aug. 17, the Jentling Band will play fro 6:30 top 7:30 p.m., followed by the Off Hour Rockers until 10 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 18, there will be a classic car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission will be $3 per person, $2 for seniors and free for youngsters under 11. The musical entertainment on Saturday will include: Groovey Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Less the Weiser fro 5 to 8 p.m.; and Southern Justice from 8:30 to 11 p.m. On Sunday, Aug. 19, a Polish Polka Mass will be celebrated a 1 p.m., followed by a polka dance with music by the GB’s Polka Band from 2 to 6 p.m. For more information, call the Post at 845-258-4168.
