Central Valley - The Woodbury Public Library welcomes summer with its annual “Kids’ Day at the Library” on Saturday, June 16, at the Central Valley branch. This is a day for children from Pre-K through grade 5 in the Town of Woodbury to visit to the library to create several special crafts, enjoy refreshments and receive a surprise. “Lyle the Crocodile” also will be on hand to greet everyone and have pictures taken. To register for Kids’ Day, call the library at 928-2114. June 16 also will be the first day of registration for the 2007 summer reading program’s “Get a Clue @ Your Library.” Kids may sign up for the individual summer reading program and get information about programs for all ages over the summer. Each child will receive a membership card, button and the material they need to get started on a summer of reading. According to information provided by the library, studies show that summertime reading helps keep children from falling behind and return to school in September ready to learn. The programs are free. Students in grades 6-9 may check out the Middle School YNK (You Never Know!) programs and the Mystery Clue Challenge at the Central Valley Branch of the Woodbury Public Library.
