Sukkot celebration
| 28 Sep 2011 | 02:58
Goshen Sukkot, “The Feast of Booths,” is a season of rejoicing. The holiday commemorates the Jewish people during their 40 years sojourn in the desert after gaining their freedom from Egypt. People celebrate the holiday by eating in a sukkah, a temporary hut. The Jewish community is invited to “Pizza and Fries in the Sukkah” at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the home of Rabbi Meir and Rivkie Borenstein at 397 Main St. in Goshen. The celebration will include craft-making, a special Lulov and Etrog workshop, sukkah decorating, music and dancing. Salads and side dishes will be served with the pizza.
