Sugarloaf Mountain Herbs to host ginseng expert

Sugar Loaf Sugarloaf Mountain Herbs will host agricultural agent Bob Beyfuss on Aug. 31 at the Seligman Studio in Sugarloaf. Beyfuss has been an agricultural agent in Greene County for over 20 years and is considered the ginseng expert of the Catskills. He will share his passion for growing ginseng with native plant lovers, as well as with growers looking for a new cash crop, and with those just interested in learning about a beneficial herb. Beyfuss will be bringing American Ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) rootlets, seeds, and a information. This program starts at 7 p.m. and is free to all, but donations are accepted.
