    Fire company to hold a car show Chester — The Trout Brook Engine and Hose Company of the Chester Fire District will be hosting its third annual car, motorcycle, and fire engine show and fundraising barbecue from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Chester Commons Park on Laroe Road (behind the ambulance bay). To pre-register, visit www.chesterfiredepartment.org and click on car show. Participants may also register starting at 10 a.m. on the day of the car show. The fee is $10 per vehicle. There is no charge for spectators. Trophies will be given for best of show in the following categories: 1950s and earlier, 1960s, 1970s. 1980s, 1990s, and up. There will also be a trophy for the best motorcycle and fire engine. Everyone who attends the show will receive a ballot to vote in each category. Burgers, hotdogs, chips, popcorn, soda, and water will be available at the concession stand. Door prizes will be raffled off. The winner of the $1,000 raffle will be announced at the end of the show. The rain date is Saturday, Aug. 25.
