Warwick - The Stephen’s Educational Trust eleventh annual cocktail party will again be held on Thursday evening, May 24, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. One of the favorite attractions each year is the variety and quality of the appetizers. Mike DiMartino, award-winning chef and owner of the Landmark Inn, promises to wow everyone with his creative selection of hors d’oeuvres. By popular demand, Richard Wiggins, a nightclub style singer/pianist, will also return to provide the musical entertainment for the evening. Wiggins currently performs at the West Point Club and Gigi’s Folderol restaurant in Westtown. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be local radio and television personality Dick Wells. A veteran of the Big Band era, Wells, a professional singer and recording artist, often accepts a few requests for a song or two from his own repertoire. “This is one event I would never miss,” said attorney Doug Stage of the Warwick law firm, Stage, Nathan and Ziobro. But partygoers are reminded that the festive occasion is also for a good cause. The St. Stephen’s - St. Edward’s Educational Trust was created 15 years ago to help finance educational programs at the tuition supported elementary school. Parents who choose to send their children to St. Stephen’s are also obligated to pay the same school taxes as all other citizens. The Educational Trust helps relieve some of that financial pressure, especially for lower income residents, by providing much-needed funds for additional equipment and materials. The St. Stephen’s - St. Edward’s Educational Trust has also developed a need based scholarship program. “Over the years,” said Ed Scharfenberger, president of the Trust, “members of this wonderful community have been generous in lending support to this annual event and it has not gone unnoticed. The trustees of the St. Stephen’s - St. Edward’s Educational Trust have traditionally designated the annual event as ‘Community Appreciation Night.” For tickets and information call co-chairs Ann Marie Moore at 986-9190 or Terry Gavan at 986-1001.
