Spring Tea and Jazz' celebrates the bloom of flowers

Warwick For the sixth consecutive year, Christ Church of Warwick will roll out the red carpet to celebrate the season of flowers with their “Spring Tea and Jazz at Christ Church.” The fundraiser will offer with seatings at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at the parish hall at 50 South Street in Warwick. Linda Garcia and Renate Rapp are co-chairing the event, which each year raises needed funds for the work of Christ Church, including support for local outreach organizations such as Warwick Meals-On-Wheels, Warwick Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Margaret’s Soup Kitchen. The afternoon, in the manner of a traditional tea, will be spiced up with the jazz sounds of pianist and composer David Crone, and Frank Petrocelli on saxophone, at both seatings. The menu will be served from a tiered buffet centerpiece, offering guests a chance to help themselves to an array of sweets and savories. Staff will be on hand to pour tea and offer tableside service as well. With Mother’s Day just around the corner, the tea room will be festooned with balloons, inside of which will be a range of gift certificates to local merchants and services. Guests may purchase a balloon, or buy fresh plants and flowers as remembrances of the day. Tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door. To make reservations, guaranteed upon receipt of payment, call 986-1774. Mail or deliver checks to: Christ Church, 50 South Street, Warwick NY 10990.
