Cornwall-on-Hudson — The Museum of the Hudson Highlands welcomes visitors of all ages this Thanksgiving weekend for “Meet the Animals: The Snake,” at its Boulevard location. Bring along family and friends to meet some of the fascinating snakes that live at the museum. Come learn where the snake gets its name, what kinds of food it eats, how it sheds its skin and how it adapts to winter. “Meet the Animals” will be presented at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 24, 25 and 26 at the Museum of the Hudson Highlands, on the Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson. The interactive program is presented throughout the year, with a different animal featured each week. General Admission to the museum is $3 for ages 2 and older, free for Museum members. Hours of operation are noon to 4 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Additional current exhibits are: the “Hall of Live Animals of the Highlands,” a permanent exhibit including live animals from our area, and “Symbols of New York,” an interactive exhibit that introduces the New York State Bird, Mammal and Insect. Recently added is the new New York State reptile, the snapping turtle. For more information, call 845-534-5506, x204, or log on to www.museumhudsonhighlands.org.
