Self-defense seminar offered for women

Florida — Self-defense techniques, a personal safety seminar for women and girls from age 13, will be conducted by Claudia Whiteley. The program will be offered at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at Temple Beth Shalom at 13 Roosevelt Ave in Florida. The two-hour program will include demonstrations, hands-on practice, conversation, question and answer sessions, and a snack. Whiteley, an enthusiastic and stimulating speaker, has been teaching programs like this for 15 years, and is the co-owner of two karate schools in New Jersey. The fee is $36 per person.
