WARWICK — You are invited to be part of this tradition by submitting your creative gingerbread house entry beginning Saturday, Dec. 7.

Last year the Warwick Merchant Guild started this new tradition with its first annual Gingerbread Contest during the celebration of Home for the Holidays.

And judges, last year, declared Mike Byro of nearby Hewitt, N.J., the winner for his gingerbread submission, "Warwick Train Station."

Byro reported at that time that his gingerbread recreation of Warwick's historic railroad station took more than 30 hours to produce.

Now it's time once again to make more original gingerbread houses for the second annual Warwick Gingerbread House Contest. This contest allows bakers and designers to show off their creative talent.

The free contest is open to all ages, and first and second prizes will be awarded in two categories.

Houses will be displayed in various participating business in the downtown village, where onlookers can cast their vote for their favorite entrant.

Entries will be accepted from Saturday, Dec. 7, through Saturday, Dec. 14, at Etched in Time Engraving, 58 Main St. in the Village of Warwick.

Voting will take place from Sunday, Dec. 15, through Saturday, Dec. 21.

All votes will be tallied on Sunday, Dec. 22, and the winners will be contacted.

Entry forms and more information can be found at Etched in Time on Main Street or by calling at 845-986-7557.
