Central Valley — The word “salmagundi” is derived from French, and means “any mixture or assortment; a medley; a potpourri; a miscellany.” That’s the way the Woodbury Historical Society describes its picnic, which is held annually on the July 4th weekend. The Salmagundi Picnic will begin at noon on Saturday, July 1, at the Gatehouse Historic Site and Learning Center on Smith Clove Road (at Pine Hill Road) in Central Valley. Both society members and the public are invited to bring a dish or dessert to share, along with a chair to sit and relax. Drinks and tableware will be provided.
