Romeo and Juliet' graces the Lycian stage on March 25

Sugar Loaf The St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre will perform the classic full-length ballet “ Romeo and Juliet” at the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts in Sugar Loaf on Tuesday, March 25 at 8 p.m. Set in medieval Verona to Prokofiev’s emotional musical score, William Shakespeare’s enduring tale of passion, murder, feud and tragedy is brought to life as a full-length ballet with lavish costumes, breathtaking sets and thrilling fight scenes. Founded 25 years ago in the birthplace of Russian classical ballet, the St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre follows the tradition of those great dancers who mesmerize audiences with their extraordinary athletic agility and their expressive lyrical movements. Considered one of the most distinguished classical ballet companies in Russia, the company has toured in more than 50 countries and performed to sold-out audiences wherever they appear.
