Registration taking place for Ahearn golf outing
WARWICK Registration is taking place for the 10 annual Brian Ahearn Children’s Fund (BACF) golf outing, which will be held on Friday, May 23 at the Crystal Springs Golf and Spa Resort in Hamburg, N.J, BACF assists struggling families, with 96 cents of every dollar raised going directly to local families in need. BACF was formed and named after Brian Ahearn, a 14-year-old boy who passed away after battling brain cancer. In its first 10 years, BACF has distributed over $490,000 to families in Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties. The first outing n 1998 raised money to initiate offering financial support to families in our community who had seriously ill or disabled children, the death of a guardian or had been affected by fire or other natural disasters. Golfers who register prior to May 15 will receive a special commemorative windshirt. The day will begin at 11 a.m. with a sit down luncheon, with golf starting at 1 p.m. Following a shotgun start foursomes will play the “best ball” format. On the course participants will have the opportunity to win a lease on a new car, win gift certificates, raffle drawings and several competitive prizes will be awarded. A full dinner and dance is part of the event. Registration fee is $200 per golfer. Additional tickets can be purchased separately to attend the dinner/dance for $60.
