Registration now underway for fall programming at Greenwood lake Public Library
GREENWOOD LAKE — Fall program registration for all ages began this week at the Greenwood Lake Public Library.
Patrons may register either online at www.gwllibrary.org, by phone at 845-477-8377 ext. 101, or in person at the front desk.
Children and YA
• For children and young adults, programs begin on Saturday, Oct. 13 with Gymnastics Fun with the Tumblebus (ages 2-9) and the Missing Diamond Mystery (ages 10-17).
• Monster Cupcakes (ages 4-9, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.) and Marshmallow Monsters (ages 10-17, 1-2 p.m.) with run on Saturday, Oct. 27, with baker Kathleen Pacos.
• Bottoms Up Crafter with show 4-9 years old how to make an Emoji Pillow on Saturday, Nov. 10 (11 a.m.-12 p.m.) and work with 10-17 year olds in a four-session Sewing Workshop beginning Tuesday, Nov. 6, 5-6 p.m.
• Art instructor Patty Kaminski with also be in for the 10-17 year olds with Winter Cardinal Pallet Painting class on Saturday, Dec. 8, 1-2 p.m.
• A Musical Monster puppet show with the Troup Up In Arms is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8, 11-12 p.m.
• Story Time returns Thursday, Oct. 4, Pajama Story Time, Wednesday, Oct. 10 (6:30-7:15 p.m.) and Melinda Burgard will have music programs Friday, Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
• The Youth Study Room, open to kids in fifth grade through high school, will continue with Monthly Bingo (Tuesdays, Oct. 2, Nov. 6 and Dec. 4, 6 p.m.).
• Movie Nights on the other Tuesdays of the month and Wednesday Game Night.
Adults
• As for adult programming, the library will be offering a Vegetarian Cooking Demonstration with Chef Jan Wolff on Saturday, Oct. 6, 1-3 p.m., and Cake Decorating with Chef Nate of the Culinary Corner on Thursday, Dec. 6, 6:30-8 p.m.
• Author Elaine Lindenblatt will be in with "The Story of the Red Apple Rest Stop" on Thursday, Oct. 11, 6:30-8 p.m.
• Gothic and Ghostly Poetry Reading with Orange County Poet Laureate (2017-2019) Robert Milby on Sunday, Oct. 21, 12-2 p.m.
• "Bats: Sounds in Silence" with Educator/Inventor Jerry Schneider on Thursday, Nov. 8, 7-8 p.m.
There will be music performances by:
• The Harvest Duo (Saturday, Nov. 3, 2-3 p.m.);
• Reuben Fast Horse (Sunday, Nov. 18, 1-2 p.m.); and
• Holiday Music with Eric Lipper (Thursday, Dec. 13, 7-8 p.m.).
• Author Barry Wiesenfeld will discuss The Beatles: 50 Years Later on Sunday, Oct. 28, 1-2:30 p.m.
• Chair Yoga with Sara Gallmann returns on Mondays, starting Oct. 8, with a new time of 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
• Rising Arts City Arts North Theatre Company will be working with participants in a four-session Comedy Improv Workshop beginning Thursday, Oct. 18, 6:30-8 p.m.
