Recital features vocalist Mary Kay Messenger

West Point — The United States Military Academy Band’s Chamber Music Series will present vocalist Sgt. First Class MaryKay Messenger in a free concert of contemporary and romantic art songs at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, at the West Point Jewish Chapel. Messenger will be accompanied by saxophonist Sgt. First Class Wayne Tice in selections from Lori Laitman’s “Living in the Body” for soprano voice and alto saxophone. Also featured will be “The Shepherd on the Rock” by Franz Schubert, with Sgt. First Class Shawn Herndon on clarinet and Thomas McCoy on piano. Other composers will include Aaron Copland, Richard Strauss, and Henri Duparc.
