Quilters look to the stars

Warwick The Warwick Valley Quilters’ Guild will hold it biennial quilt show, “Stars Of The Valley,” on May 20 and 21 at the Sanfordville Elementary School, on Sanfordville Road in Warwick. This juried show will include a raffle quilt and door prizes as well as a folk art challenge. There will be a special exhibit of works by Eda Steinman and Evelyn Faber and programs and lectures by Lisa Shepard and Brandy Browner. Eighteen vendors will be represented. Steinman’s work has been in juried shows across the United States as well as being published in the national magazines and shown in museums. Faber started her first quilt in 1942, took time out to have seven children and finished that quilt in 1973. She has made quilts as small as 6 by 8 inches and as large as queen-size bed quilts. Both women are charter members of the Guild. The Guild has assembled a Boutique for the show and will have a cafe for refreshments. Admission is $5.00 for adults, children free.
