Pumpkinfest set for Oct. 14 in Pine Island

PINE ISLAND — The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will host its annual celebration of pumpkins on Columbus Day, Monday, Oct. 14, at Pine Island Park on Kay Road.

This family event will be held at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will features a children’s bouncy house, crafts, pumpkin-painting for all, touch-a-tractor, games, food and more.

Pine Island Fire Department will also be on hand to provide information about fire prevention.

The event is held under the pavilion and on the fields at the Pine Island Town Park where guests may also visit the park’s Butterfly Garden and playground area complete with swings, slides and a play-pirate ship.

Easy parking and bathroom facilities available.

The cost is $2 for chamber members, $3 for non-members.

This year there will also be a kick-off for the Pine Island "Let's Run This Town" - a weekend version of the Warwick's "Let's Run This Town."

Registration for the walk will begin at 10:45 with the walk beginning at 11:15 a.m. Participants who take part in the walk and who plan on attending the Pumpkinfest will pay the chamber member cost of $2 for admission.
