GOSHEN — Anyone interested in volunteering at the Orange County Arboretum is invited to attend a training workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Arboretum’s Kosuga Greenhouse.

There are a variety of opportunities for volunteers, including work in the gardens and greenhouse, help with special events and fundraisers, classes for children and adults, the Garden Tea Party, 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, Holiday Boutique, and Lights in Bloom program.

“Volunteering with the Friends of the Arboretum is a great way to share your expertise and love of gardening and maybe even pick up a few new skills and friends — in the process,” said Richard Rose, the county commissioner of parks and recreation.

The arboretum is located in Thomas Bull Memorial Park on State Route 416 in Montgomery and is most easily accessed from the Grove Street entrance. Just pull up to the motion-activated gate to enter.
