Monroe - The following is a list of programs and events at Monroe Free Library during May: Third Annual Duct Tape Contest Teens are invited to create Ninth Wonder of the World with the invaluable, do-it-all commodity - duct tape - and then bring them into the library for display the week of May 21. Open to teens grade seven and up. A prize will be awarded to the most creative object made with duct tape;. Eighth Annual Lego Contest Children and adults are invited to bring their Lego creations to the library the week of May 21 for display. Please include a 3x5 card with your name, age and title (if appropriate) and phone number on the back. Only children 12 and under are eligible to win prizes, one prize for the best creation that illustrates the Summer Reading Program, which is “Get a Clue@ Your Library,” and another for most creative. Winners in both contests will be announce June 29. And all contestants must collect their creations by July 5. Computer Training Class: Intro to Using the Internet, Thursday, May 17, 2 to 3 p.m. Tired of having your kids show you how to use your computer? Wow them with your new-found PC knowledge. Registration is in progress. Teen Paper Bag Scrap Book Craft, Saturday, May 12, 1 to 3 p.m. Create a beautiful and unique scrapbook made from a paper bag! Learn scrapbook techniques from a real pro and go home with a beautiful keepsake for your special memories! Registration required for this teen craft.
