The Hudson Valley Polonaise Society celebrated its 20th anniversary with music by the Ablemen and entertainment by society members and friends. Dressed in traditional costumes of 17th-century Polish nobility, members of the society's free polka classes performed an elegant Polonaise. The dancers were Susan Ellis and Ray Jashembowski, Francesca and Dan Gallardo, Sara LeMieux and Bryan Morgiewicz, Alexis Rogers and Zachary Ewanciw, Kathy and Sam Rogers, Cynthia Ewanciw-Morse and Tyler Zygmunt-Murtie, Kim Kocot and Nick Ewanciw and Kiana Morse and James Kozala Jr. The dancers then invited the audience to join in the promenade. Polka exhibition dancing by Amy Ellis Bunzey and Joe Morgiewicz and Kiana Morse and James Kozala Jr. rounded out the evening’s entertainment. The Hudson Valley Polonaise Society, established in March 1991, is dedicated to preserving the Polish heritage and culture, and to ensuring that local youth have a creative outlet for their talent and energy.
