Polka, Redbone, and a salute to the drinking life

Chester — Gennarose, a vocalist who has toured for the last three years with the award-winning Jimmy Sturr Orchestra, will perform at Bodles Opera House in Chester at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 20. Gennarose has been featured on the TV broadcast of “The Jimmy Sturr Show.” She appears on Sturr’s latest album, “Shake, Rattle and Polka.” Admission is $29.95 for dinner and the show; $15 for the show only. Then on Thursday, July 21, HotFlash (formerly the Tulips) and the Hormones (Bodles All-Star Orchestra) will present “Whine, Women and Song,” a comedy-cabaret “about the drunken perspective on life.” The program features songs about alcohol, such as Dean Martin’s “Medley on Drinking,” “Scotch and Soda,” while the three women of HotFlash (Bodles owner-manager Patricia Mazo, Catherine Johnson, Maureen Morrissey) sit at a bar onstage.
