The story concerns three men and a painting, which sounds so simple; but not so, when one of them buys an expensive painting that his best friend can’t comprehend. When the third tries to intercede, quarrels and confrontations break out. The conflict between the three friends forces them to look beyond the surface of not only art but of their own relationships. What begins as a sparkling and funny debate about the nature of art soon morphs into a witty and often poignant examination of friendship itself. Performances of “Art” are made possible, in part, with funds from the Orange County Tourism/Orange Arts and the County of Orange.
