Playhouse at Museum Village presents "Follies"

| 18 Sep 2013 | 01:15

— The Playhouse at Museum Village continues its 18th season with Stephen Sondheim’s popular Broadway musical, “Follies.” Evening performances are scheduled for Sept 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m. Matinee performances are at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sundays, Sept. 22 and 29.

When former members of the "Weismann's Follies" reunite on the eve of their theater's demolition, two couples recall their glorious past and face the harsher realities of the present. The shadows of their younger selves remind them of the complicated steps they've danced — both on the stage and throughout their lives.

Music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim with book by James Goldman. The production is directed by Cynthia Topps with musical direction by Brian Flint and choreography by David Mossey.

All performances are at The Playhouse at Museum Village, Route 17M, in Monroe. Tickets to individual performances are $22 each, which includes dessert at intermission consisting of apple pie, ice cream, cheese, iced tea and coffee. Group rates are available and reservations are suggested. For more information, call the Box Office at 845-294-9465 or visit CTMWP.ORG.
