Playhouse at Museum Village presents a do-it-yourself musical whodunit

MONROE — The Playhouse at Museum Village continues its 2017 season with Rupert Holmes’ musical comedy, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” beginning Saturday, Sept. 9.
The plotThis musical whodunit won the Tony Award for Best Musical. Loosely based on Charles Dickens’ famously unfinished novel, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" follows the Music Hall Royale, a loony Victorian musical troupe, as it performs its flamboyant rendition of this musical mystery.
When young Drood disappears one stormy Christmas Eve, murder is suspected, but who could have committed the crime?
That is for the audience to decide.
Essential information• Performances are scheduled for Sept. 9, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 at 8 p.m., and matinees on Sept. 10, 17, 23 and 24 at 3 p.m. All performances are at The Playhouse at Museum Village, Route 17M, in Monroe.
• Tickets to individual performances are $24 each, which includes dessert at intermission consisting of apple pie, ice cream, cheese, iced tea and coffee.
