Pike shares in Pocono Arts Council grants

    MILFORDnSeveral Pike businesses and agencies were beneficiaries of recently announced Pocono Arts Council grants. They included: 70NW Photography Gallery and Education Center, the Pocono Environmental Education Center, Pike County Area Agency on Aging, Pike County Arts & Crafts, and the US Forest Service at Grey Towers National Historic Site. The PA Partners in the Arts (PPA) Grants program is a partnership initiative between local arts organizations and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA), a state agency. PPA is administered in the northeastern Pennsylvania region by the Pocono Arts Council and available to organizations conducting arts programming in the counties of Monroe, Pike and Wayne. Since beginning the program in 1997, over $362,500 has been granted in the region. This year 31 project applications received grants totaling $27,502. Five additional organizations were granted on-going support in the amount of $7,580 through the PPA Program Stream.
