Organ recital to reflect on Epiphany
Middletown Patricia Maimone will play an Epiphany-themed organ recital at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, at Grace Episcopal Church at 58 North Street in Middletown. The concert will include music of Bach, Koetsier, Vaughan Williams, and others. Maimone will be joined by soprano Constance Chase, director of the West Point Glee Club, and oboist Joel Evans, a frequent performer in the Hudson Valley and an alumnus of the West Point Band. Maimone holds a bachelor degree in organ from Douglass College at Rutgers University, and a master degree in organ performance from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. She played for concerts, weddings, and memorial services in the Hudson Valley, while organist and director of musical activities at West Point’s Post Chapel in 1975. Maimone is currently Music Director and organist at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in the Highlands, Cold Spring, and accompanist for the West Point Glee Club. She recently joined the staff of adjunct professors of music at SUNY New Paltz. She served as dean of the Central Hudson Valley Chapter for 1988-90 and 1998-2000, and was appointed district convener for eight upstate American Guild of Organists’ chapters soon thereafter.
