Orange County Youth Symphony hosts its winter holiday concert on Dec. 18

Central Valley — The Orange County Youth Symphony will present its winter holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 18, beginning at 3:30 p.m., in the Monroe-Woodbury High School Auditorium The program will include the “Overture to William Tell” by Giacchino Rossini and the “Nutcracker Suite” by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The Orange County Youth Symphony, which consists of some of the most talented young musicians in the area, is making plans to travel to Seoul, capital of South Korea, to perform several concerts with the Ein Klang Youth Orchestra in Seoul and Changwon city in April 2012. While in Seoul, besides performing concerts, they will stay with their host families to learn and experience the Korean cultures. The Ein Klang Youth Orchestra, which is for Korean students who are going to major in music performance in college, is planning to visit New York City in January 1013 to perform a joint concert with the Orange County Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall. The trip to Korea is partly sponsored by the Changwon city government. Essential information Tickets for the concert are $15 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens.
