Warwick - The Warwick Valley Artist’s Open Studio Tour is scheduled for Oct. 13-14. Ever since it began in 1995, the popular tour has been attracting area residents and visitors for the two-day chance to see where art is actually made. Local artists, artisans and crafts people with accessible studios are invited to apply to participate in the event. Even artists without public studios can show and demonstrate their work in a shared public setting which will be arranged. Artist’s entry fee for the event is $40 to cover postcards, publicity and organizing. The tour will be limited to 25 artists studios this year. Artists will be selected to represent a wide range of media. The tour attracts between 400 and 500 people who are given a map to participating artist’s studios throughout the Town of Warwick. Artists and volunteer workers are asked to call organizer Sarah McHugh for more details at sarah@mchughstudio.com or call 845-987-8748. “Volunteer workers are especially needed to help with signage, tickets and publicity,” McHugh said. “It’s a great way to get to know the art and artists of Warwick better.” The Warwick Valley Open Studio Tour is a fund-raising project of Community 2000, the not-for-profit community service organization helping to build Warwick’s future.
