Open Mic Night draws performers
Goshen The Open Mic Night with Bob Barlow was held on Saturday, May 27, at The Greenwood Grind in Greenwood Lake. For future open mics, visit www.thegreenwoodgrind.com. Todd Giudice sang originals, Jane March sang on topics ranging from great women in history to oatmea, Kathy Moran combined humor and pathos in the land of the Charter Oak, and Mike Lang provided power and honesty with his poetry. Arthur and Pamela, a.k.a. “Over the Line,” returned sounding stronger than ever. Wolf of the North Woods shared his vision of the world, and Ryan Sinclair introduced an original that host Barlow said he wouldn’t be surprised to hear on radio someday. Tom Ryan brought his newest baby, a teeny-tiny Martin, that in his hands made a big sound. Barry Adelman sang songs about peace, love, open mics, and the new charitable project he’s working on, Music for Humanity. George, Frank and Douglas, three Greenwood Lake natives who go by the collective name Hobo, offered harmonies and instrumental breaks. Michael Heister closed the festivities on a Dylan-esque note, with his twelve-string and a bunch of blues harps.New at MoonDoze The next open mic will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at the MoonDoze Cafe at 47 West Main St. in Goshen. The events are a chance to listen to the wonder and beauty of live acoustic music.
